Directed Mutagenesis
Whether a single base pair substitution is desired, or you want to eliminate the expression of several genes, we have the capability to produce a desired genotype in a cell line of your choosing.
We typically rely on one of two techniques to introduce specific alterations into genes of interest: PCR-mediated site-directed mutagenesis or whole gene synthesis. We clone the modified target gene into one of our expression vectors - these have been optimized for a variety of model systems including mammalian, bacterial and insect systems.
Transformed cell lines aren't equally susceptible to transfection, and certain cell types such as induced pluripotent stem cells are much more challenging to work with than most transformed cell lines. We have extensive experience with all the above and we're ready to guide you to success!
