KinoScope™ parses kinases based on their spatial relationships surrounding the ATP-binding pocket, revealing eleven different subfamillies. Within each subfamily, we have selected a single kinase that captures the collective compound reactivities of the other members. We refer to the resulting panel of eleven assays as the KinoCore™ (highlighted in red). The power of this panel is that with only eleven cell-based assays, we can capture the biology of the entire KinoScope™ panel. In other words, this sub-panel represents the majority of the molecular spaces that exist around the ATP-binding pocket. In this way, the KinoCore™ panel can be used to explore potential off-target activities and identify new opportunities to repurpose existing drugs - at a fraction of the cost of traditional full panel screens.
